Be used to
The structure is:
be + used to + noun or -ing
Examples:
- I am used to waking up early.
- He is used to driving in heavy traffic.
- She was not used to the hot weather.
These sentences mean that you are accustomed or not to a new situation.
Get used to
The structure is:
get + used to + noun or -ing
Examples:
- I am getting used to living in Madrid although it is not easy.
- She’s not getting used to waking up early because she likes to sleep in.
These sentences mean that you are becoming accustomed to a new situation.
We can this this structure with :
Future tenses:
I will get used to living in Madrid but it may take a while.
Past tenses:
- He got used to the long working hours.
Used to + infinitive = past situation.
- I used to live in London but not anymore.
- He used to work here but he retired.
