Nowadays, many professions like web designers, IT specialists, and graphic designers work as freelance professionals. That’s because the jobs they do are normally for a short period of time.
In Australia many of the workers in the building industry are subcontractors. This means that they work for a bigger company that has won a contract but can’t do all the work itself.
I started my career as a trainee in a finance company. The salary was low but it helped me get experience and meet professionals in the sector.
When I was 16 my parents wanted me to get a trade so I considered becoming an apprentice electrician. It didn’t happen because I decided to stay at school and try to go to university.
