English expression – make ends meet

By Admin Leave a Comment

make ends meet

To make ends meet is an English expression that means that you have, or earn enough money to meet your basic needs and expenses.

Like a lot of people, I live from pay check to pay check. I don’t earn much money so every month can be a struggle.

I have trouble to save money. It is not easy for me to put food on the table. Times are tough.

Examples:

Joe’s salary is quite good. He finds it easy to make ends meet.

It is getting harder and harder to make ends meet nowadays. Everything is so expensive!

Here’s another English expression to help you improve your fluency in English.
